TRACY (STARK) SHEPARD
My passion for sewing began by my Mother's side as a youngster. By public school I was making clothing for myself and my friends. After graduating from the Retail Management programme at St Lawrence College and gaining some real life experience in retail and finance, I turned my part time hobby into a full time occupation. Now I get to do what I love best in larger, expanded space in my new town of Kingston. In the Kingston office, I am sad to report that I am no longer accompanied by a seamstress's best friend: my Boxer Rocco. He enjoyed our clients as much as I do and spent 4 years being the official greeter, but we lost him to cancer at 8.5 years old in July 2021. I'm very grateful for the opportunities that come from being an entrepreneur. Moving to Kingston has allowed me to become involved with great organizations like the Women Mean Business Network and to volunteer my services to Dress For Success Kingston to empower other women to pursue their dreams as well. Alterations are also provided free of charge to Well Suited for local men, and the Covid-19 restrictions allowed time to convert donated fabric and notions into donated masks for local front line workers.
